Business Grade VoIP
Quality business grade VoIP is no longer a thing of the future. With Several quality business grade VoIP providers in the market now, it is definitely obtainable. For a while now there has been promise that VoIP will eventually be a realistic option for business but there has been issues that have held people from making the plunge to VoIP.

The major problem that has held VoIP back from making its way into the business sector has definitely been its association with cheapness and therefore lack of quality. This has largely been due to the provision that many VoIP providers have given to the residential market. A large reason for the percieved poor quality of VoIP as a service has been with residential providers signing up many customers and putting their provision through a limitted ammount of bandwith, often resulting in choppy call quality and even calls dropping out. This is not a problem with VoIP but has more to do with either lack of infrastructure from these providers or conversely with the providers trying to save money on their bandwith costs. In the residential market quality is often not of the greatest importance and providers have been able to get around these problems through the massive reduction in call costs that they are offering customers.

The obvious downside however is the perception that has resulted from this that VoIP equates to poor quality. This has had a negative effect on business VoIP providers and their ability to make a play at the business market in Australia. This of course is not true and people in time are gradually beginning to learn this through being educated on VoIP , how it works and it's massive potential in the business sector. The quality of VoIP is due to the quality of the VoIP provider and how they structure their business and there are in fact some very high quality business VoIP providers already in the market.

With the increased need for specific technical knowledge and the use of more advanced hardware and programming the Business VoIP market is far more specialised than the residential VoIP market and really separates the mediocre from the professionals. You will find that VoIP companies without this technical know how will not venture into the business sector as it is a market that they will not be able to compete in. The companies that do enter into business grade VoIP and do it well are doing this market a great service. For far too long have small to medium enterprise been limited by stone age phone systems that lack basic functionality purely because they could not afford the massive price tag that previously was attached to them. This is why I firmly believe that quality business grade VoIP providers are doing businesses a great service by offering this new technology to them.

There is no doubt that there are quality business grade VoIP providers out there that offer crystal clear call quality while abiding to strict binding SLA's (service level agreements). The problem thus far has been sifting through the two hundred and thirty odd VoIP providers to find the needles in the haystack. My advice would be do your research and ask your friends and associates if they have come across any quality bussiness grade VoIP providers. Contact business grade VoIP providers and request a test line. If nothing else it will give you a good idea on the quality of their provision. There is no need to be scared to switch your businesses phone system over to VoIP, the technology is ready, just be sure to do your homework when looking for a VoIP provider and make sure that you find one that is of business grade quality.
